Name: Caroline Forbes Door: Pass - Dominant Canon: The Vampire Diaries w/ CRAU from her last visit here Canon Point: 8x06 after fighting with Alaric while on their way to rescue the twins. Age: 25 Appearance: face | full body History: Wiki located here | CRAU: Previous time in Duplicity Caroline was in-game for a few months and had a chance to reconnect with Klaus, met Erik Gelden and almost contracted with him before she left. She also went through the revolt that happened and was stuck in the Down while fighting and violence took over. Personality: Caroline Forbes is a total perfectionist, involved in as many things as possible: cheer captain, Miss Mystic Falls, community service, and straight-A student. Her family descends from one of the original four families that founded Mystic Falls, Virginia - a fact of not only prestige, but a factor in driving her to go above and beyond in everything she did. Her father left when she was young, leaving her to be raised by her mother. Her mother was a strong advocate for her success, the push for her to be the best, actions that were both helpful and detrimental at the same time. She had a rather nasty habit of comparing herself to others, her two best friends Bonnie and Elena, not an exception to the rule. While she’d worked hard to move past the ugliness of jealousy, a large component of it has always stayed with her. For a long time, she felt that she was second best, never good enough to win someone’s affections because of who she is rather than convenience. This feeling carries on, even when she settles into her own footing and gains her own sense of self. She’s a people pleaser, part of it stemming from wanting to be chosen. Elena: You’re not the back up. Caroline: Yes I’m. I’m Matt’s Elena back up; I’m your Bonnie back up. Elena: Now it’s about me and Bonnie? Caroline: You don’t get it. Why would you? You’re everyone’s first choice. She always seems to have a constant running undercurrent of insecurity, feeding into every decision and action. It fuels her shallowness, relying on backhanded compliments and sometimes being outright cruel. She has the ability to filter it depending on the situation. She also has a tendency to judge a book by it’s cover - driven by her own need to also have the appearance of the perfect life from the outside looking in: perfect clothes, perfect boyfriend, perfect hair, perfect grades, and an elevated social status. She shows more concern about earning the title of Miss Mystic Falls rather than having a stable relationship with her mother. Her choices in men both before and after turning weren’t always the strongest. Damon had used her, the beginning foundation of their current friendship having been built on toxicity and lies. When she started dating Matt, he’d brought out a side of her that had been buried - a sweeter and kinder Caroline. She truly loved him, opened up to him and started pushing herself towards becoming a better person. Caroline: I don’t wanna be. I - I mean, I wanna be deep. I wanna be, like, the abyss deep. Matt: No offense, Cara, but deep’s not really your scene. Caroline: That’s true. I’m shallow. I am worse than shallow. I’m a kiddie pool. She was doing well, getting on the right track and turning around some of her more negative personality traits before she was killed by Katherine in the hospital. Her death had triggered her shift over to becoming a vampire. Through her transformation, her strongest personality traits had become amplified - for better or worse. Caroline to Stefan: "Now I'm an insecure, neurotic control freak... on crack?" She became even more confident and self-aware, knowing what she wanted and more sure of herself. It seems to cancel out some of her earlier needs for validation and recognition for her actions. She willingly went to help Elena with Katherine and confronted Damon about what he’d done to her. Her tongue is still sharp, but it doesn't carry the same venom as before. She doesn't use her words to hurt others, but she also doesn't let people walk all over her. While the vampirism amplified some of her good traits as previously mentioned, it brought out some other less desirable ones as well. She still has her own insecurities and desire to be in control of everything, though she uses the latter to her advantage. After her transformation, she took a life when she experienced blood lust for the first time. There was no one there to help her with it, turning to Stefan afterwards for help. He became a calming point for her, helping her control her hunger and taught her to feed on animals. She accepts what she is, for better or for worse, even though it costs her her relationship with Matt when she saves him, outing herself as a vampire because she couldn't let him die. Despite her insecurities and fears, she never loses her conviction. She perseveres no matter how much seems to happen to her, whether it’s being kidnapped or put down. She maintains a semblance of an upbeat disposition, always trying to find a positive in a situation while still being able to think quickly on her feet. Sometimes her attempts to find the positives can lead to word-vomiting and her hyper-focusing on smaller more insignificant pieces of something rather than the larger picture. For example, while Damon and Bonnie had been trapped in the prison world, she’d fixated on digging up Bonnie’s bear that she’d buried in the woods as a child out of jealousy. As irrational as it is, a fact she’s aware of, it’s a tangible action she can take to negate a sense of helplessness. While she does her best to maintain a positive outlook on things, she’s still subject to mood swings, made more extreme by the heightened traits. She is capable of having monumental meltdowns and fits of rage. It sometimes tends to be made worse depending on how she feels about the recipient of her emotional outbursts. She is loyal to a fault and hurt when her loyalty is not returned. Her relationship with Tyler developed after her transformation, sympathizing with what he was going through when he discovered he was a werewolf. She does what she can to help him so he doesn’t experience the same thing she did when she turned, even though his bite could kill her. Caroline to Tyler: "I was alone when I turned. I had no control over my body or my urges and I killed somebody. I don't want that to happen to you. I don't want you to be alone." She continued to grow after starting college, working more and more on developing her more positive traits and becoming even more selfless, especially when it comes to Stefan and Elena. After returning home from her brief visit here, she'd had to grow up a lot. The impossible had happened, finding herself pregnant with twins after Jo died and a spell transferred the pregnancy to her. It was dangerous and life-changing and she became a surrogate mother to twin girls, Josie and Lizzie - daughters of Jo and Alaric. They'd given her a new purpose in life and she'd learned the truth about being a ball of anxiety when she couldn't protect the girls from all of the supernatural dangers coming for both her and them. Co-parenting with Alaric after a failed engagement to him taught her how to balance her life while making the most of family time without being forced to choose between work or the kids. She is extremely protective of the girls, to the point of being too controlling in some aspects of their lives through micro-management and being hypercritical of the people around them that she doesn't know. But, without any hesitation, her children will always come first - even before her engagement and the wellbeing of her future brother-in-law who was under an evil influence. Caroline to Stefan: "Let me be perfectly clear, Stefan. If Damon gets in between me and my girls, I am going to kill him. So no, you cannot come with me. Don't say anything. Just listen. Until this is all over, there is no us. There is only me, and my kids, and their father. They're all depending on me, and I can't afford any distractions or compromises, especially when it comes to your brother." She still has a lot of faults, but she is a positive ray of sunshine in sometimes the bleakest of situations. She never loses hope, firmly believing that there’s always another way. She may still be highly emotional and have her shallow moments at times, but she’s working on it. Powers and Abilities: Caroline has all the powers of a standard vampire, immortality and healing abilities - not only for herself but for others if she gives them her blood. She cannot be in direct sunlight without her daylight ring. She does also have the power to compel others, and other forms of mind control/telepathy - dream manipulation and realistic illusions. On top of this, she’s a fairly skilled fighter. Inventory:
